Rezumat
Romanian inter-war literary mobility at the crossroads between theft and progress
Through an analysis of the differences between world literature and cosmopolitanism, I draw attention to the importance of the latter in the emergence of the Modern novel in the interwar Romanian literature. Though the surge in novels in the 30s is most often attributed to the socio-economic context, my conclusions point out that a crucial role in importing the novel into the Romanian space was played by both (1) psychology, as a new institutional science, and by (2) the agents of the transfer.
