The Epiphany of the Exile in “Wandering Star“ from J.M.G. Le Clézio
The article aims to investigate themes such as exile and wandering in J. M. G. Le Clézio’s Wandering Star. During a time of war, unpredictable events happen and life can be fundamentally changed. In discussing the destinies of Esther and Nejma, one considers that there is not only exile that shapes them but also a continuous quest for identity accompanying it. Exploring the war atrocities and consequences, Le Clézio looks into the private history, the solitude and the sufferings of both Jews and Palestines from a unbiased perspective. He enhances the story with beautiful poetic accents and powerful insights on the destiny of the entire humankind.
