Flaubert’s Correspondence – a poïétical document

Flaubert’s Correspondence does not represent only a social or historical document, but also a poïétical document proposing a certain type of auctorial behaviour, a mechanism of creative thinking seen in its most infinitesimal details. It is the image of a life dedicated to the art of writing, in the quest of the perfect expression, of the ideal creation. It is the image of the creator who, during his work, discovers a world and discovers himself, writes and
sees himself writing, makes and watches himself on the act of making.
Keywords: French literature, Flaubert’s correspondence, poïétics, writing, work, subject
