The correspondence of Cioran or the metamorphosis of the letters

Our article concerns the creative valences of the correspondence of Cioran in its relationship with the creative space of the Cahiers (Notebooks). We shall first study the general aspects of the exchange letter practice of Cioran and the peculiarities of the use he makes of it. Then we will focus on the study of some theoretical reflections of the writer on the process of writing a letter, as they appear, in a fragmentary way, in the Cahiers. The last part will be dedicated to the way in which certain fragments of letters are integrated into the creative process of the work or fragments already worked in his Cahiers are included in the letters that Cioran sends to his close or distant friends. The question of the self will be in the center of this issue, the reading and the writing of the letters implying a fundamental transformation of the being.
Keywords: Cioran, epistolary practice, letter writing, creative method, identity
