The Value Of Practical Experience In Franciscan Philosophical Thinking

Some personal and community experience is at the base of Franciscanism. Here, the theory and system are the result of an experience and a practice that condition the thinking. The philosophical and theological speculation of Saint Bonaventure, Roger Bacon, Scotus, Ockham, Piero di Giovanni Olivi, Raimondo Lullo, etc. may be incomprehensible without the experience of the Franciscan community and its intersection with the experience of Saint Francis of Assisi and the its vision on the world.
