Stere – A Portrait in Fragments
Constantin Stere came to be regarded as one of the most daring and complex political and social thinkers to emerge in the first decades of the 20th century. Indebted to russian populism, his ideas moulded an entire generation and were seminal in reshaping the intellectual landscape. In the same time, Stere is more than meets the eye. A traitor to some, a hero to others, a novelist that brings conjures up the powerful vein of the russian writers. The purpose of this essay is to provide the reader with the templates for a future reappraisal of Stere’s work.
