Confessional Influences in Feminine Poetry. Angela Marinescu and Anne Sexton
This article’s purpose is to make a comparison between two confessional poets who wrote almost in the same time periods, but in completely different cultures and literary worlds: Anne Sexton and Angela Marinescu. The latter hasn’t been thought of as a confessional poet in the Romanian literary world, but time and later publications have proved her to be one, and one of the best. This article begins by presenting the literary background of both of the poets and then presents each poet, her life, her work, how her life influences her work, how her life is her work, because we are, in fact, speaking of two confessional poets, both suffering from diseases, both emerging into writing poetry, because of their work, both using literature as a healing apparatus.
