Professor Dan Popescu, „Doctor Honoris Causa“ of the University of Rennes 1, France
At the beginning of July, at the University of Rennes 1 in France, the prestigious title of „Doctor Honoris Causa” was awarded to three foreign researchers: Dan Popescu, from the „Lucian Blaga” University from Sibiu, specialist in Political Economy, History of Economical Thinking and History of Economics; Alex Hansen, from Norway, professor at the Technological University from Trondheim, specialized in Physics; and the American Richard R. Schrock, from MIT, U.S.A., specialized in Chemistry, Nobel Prize of 2005. All three researchers collaborate with the University from Rennes 1 in scientifical and academical respects. The scientifical personality ofDan Popescu was presented to the public by the French professor Robert Labbe, former director of I.U.T. de Rennes.
