Rezumat
A reference work of current Romanian Ethnology
The work “Habits of human life in Maramures, I, Birth and Childhood” written by Mihai Dancus has a monographic form. The traditions and the ceremonies of birth are treated in detail having as support research in the field, in the geographical space of Maramures considered a conservative area. The research in the field also includes the Romanian villages from the right of Tisa belonging to Ukraine.
I noted in our chronicle the author’s merit of treating all stages of the birth period: pregnancy, birth and childhood. We highlighted the complexity of research from multiple perspectives: sociological, historical, anthropological, ethnoethnological.
