Bookplates in Old R Book at The Library of the Romanian Academy in Cluj-Napoca
The research conducted within the Fund of Old Romanian Books at the Library of the Romanian Academy in Cluj-Napoca has highlighted the existence of numerous bookplates. They belonged to Romanian cultural personalities. Consequently, the present study has had the intention to achieve a partial recomposition of the private libraries of some Romanian intellectuals who had the mentioned books in possession. The ascription of the existing Old Romanian prints in the already mentioned fund to the private libraries of the Greek Catholic and Orthodox hierarchs and other cultural personalities, more or less known, was made based on the presence of the bookplates within the printed matters in question. Identifying and publishing them is important because, in addition to restoring private libraries, they also contribute to analyzing the issues regarding the circulation of the prints.
