The following article entitled “The order of Saint Paul the Hermit within the borders of the Hungarian Kingdom” represents an attempt to portray the the premises which led to the development of monasticism, especially that of the order of Saint Paul the Hermit, within the borders of the Hungarian Kingdom, during the Middle Ages. The order was to become the only one, which was entirely developed within the Hungarian realm. Despite its restrained location, the order spred all around Europe, beyond the kingdom.
