Between Tradition and Modernism. Railways and roads of Sighişoara in the 1870’s

This article analyzes the evolution of the communication system of Transylvania, at the mid 19-th century. It presents the case of Sighişoara, where the railway was inaugurated in 1872, through the memoirs of a baker. We talk about de Josef Franz Zielinski, who presents with humor the state of the roads before the inauguration of the railway and the effervescence that the town was confronted with, during the construction of the railway.
