Rezumat
Cioran on culture, experience, and language
The following study observes the significant differences produced in Cioran’s thought through the shift from the Romanian to the French period, mainly in what regards his ideas on culture, experience, and language. From the initial apprehension of culture as a „negative fiction” to the late praise of the poetic language, Cioran’s thought has developed a progressive mistrust in the possibility of identifying a definite meaning of any experience and, subsequently, of life itself.
