Communities and Castles in Arsa Valley. Historical coincidences
The earliest scientific and historical information about Istro-Romanians come from the twelfth century. It tells us about the family of Goritia who owned, for the first time, Arsa territory and also about the political relations between Goritian lords and the Aquilea Patriarchate. It is also quite interesting that Maria- Iosif Auersperg (who was the historical owner of the Istrian villages) has functioned as a Transylvanian Governor and lived in Sibiu.
