Rezumat
Religiosity on glass
This article is about representations of saints on glass icons, like the icons artisans imagined. This way: Saint Ilie was the sender of good rains for the crops, Saint Haralambie protected against the diseases, Saint Nicolae was the protector of unmarried girls, Saint Gheorghe protected the young frontier guard, The Virgin Mary was considered the protector of new families.
For bringing the world of saints closer to their hearts, the icons artisans and the hagiographic legends introduced native elements. From this combination resulted the icons that are saying an entire story, where the religious characters lend human features.
