Les Mythologies comme un outil d’exploration de la littérature migrante
Rezumat
Abstract: The article discusses the way in which the ideas developed in Roland Barthes’ “Mythologies” could be used as analytical tools when approaching a corpus of Québécois migrant novels. Migrant novels deal not only with the migration of human beings, but also with that of representations. This is both identity-related and intellectual (self-)exploration and is accompanied by a gradual renunciation of the ideological content behind the protagonists’ representations, and the text itself becomes the instrument of such deconstruction. The article illustrates the application of a possible approach inspired by “Mythologies” through the analysis of two novels by Québécois writers coming from Eastern Europe – Sonya Anguelova and Aline Apostolska1.
