Postmodern Gothic: Forrays into Andrei Codrescu and Venedikt Erofeev’s Prose

The article offers a glimpse into the complex subject of the gothic in the postmodern paradigm as well as several insights into two types of gothic– American and Soviet– exemplified through the work of Andrei Codrescu and Venedikt Erofeev. Both of these writers’ prose writings present gothic and postmodern features, analysed here through the lens of recent theories and concepts on the gothic.
