Exploring the Diference in S’adapter by Clara Dupont-Monod
Abstract: The article focuses on the literary treatment of “difference” in the novel of the contemporary French author Clara Dupont-Monod, S’adapter (2021), by taking into account different levels such as the thematic, narrative, intertextual ones; the issue of personal identity is also explored in close relationship with the metaphor of “reclusion”. The study also observes various mechanisms of rendering this difference in order to explore how literature assumes the role of “repairing the world” by building authentic connections.
