Rezumat
The Civil Superior Boarding School for Girls from Sibiu—foundation of the ASTRA Association
This study presents one of the foundations of the ASTRA Association – namely the Civil Superior Boarding School for Girls from Sibiu –, proof of the effectiveness of propaganda in favor of girls’ education and women’s empowerment. The Civil Superior Boarding School for Girls from Sibiu, opened in 1886, during the 25th Anniversary since the Establishment of the Association, was a model for the creation ofsimilar institutions in Transylvania.
