Interlocks and Transfers between the Source Language and the Target Language
The article proposes a didactical perspective regarding the issue of transfers and interlocks ocurring in the process of translation, starting from the analysis of several text fragments translated from French into Romanian. The students approach translation either as result (text), or as process (meta-approach); in both situations, this raises a series of specific questions – starting with the subjective assessment of a translation’s level of difficulty (why does it seem easy or difficult?), continuing with its nature (how can one understand a specialized discourse ?), and reaching to specific discussions regarding the role, limitations, and frredoms of the translator.
