The acceleration of Romanian-Italian negotiations for the simultaneous entrance in war
The evolution of international relations after the Congress of Berlin in November 1878 showed trends from the previous period, marking the creationof a new international situation, which will lead to World War I in 1914. Essential characteristics of international relations in this period are the establishment of the opposite militarypolitical alliances, the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente, which will therefore establish a new balance of forces between the great powers. The outbreak of the international crisis forced the Great Powers to act for the
implementation of existing politico-military alliances. The world headed towards a world conflict and the Romanian diplomacy had to clarify its position.
