Traditionalism vs. modernity in poetry
The „Traditionalism vs. modernity in poetry” study suggests the approach of the sacred from the point of view of the connection between traditionalism and modernity in a certain period, the inter-war period, more precisely. The research is focused not only on the word’s etymology, but on the interdependence between sacred and profane, reflected in religious poetry. Thus, for example, the idea that we plead is that symbolistic of the sacred reveals the soul’s inclination towards the absolute’s acknowledgment, through the hierophany of the symbol, subdued to the level of knowledge and will. Traditionalism in poetry, in its exceptional values, seems to carry the stamp of the expressive modernity, that modernity which does not cancel the traditional substance, but, through an emotional revaluation, means a decisive step in the sacred identification.
