The concept of „Praxis” according to Duns Scotus

In Scotus’ writings we often come across the term „praxis”. He speaks of practical theology, practical philosophy, practical logic, etc. This research attempts to capture the different nuances of praxis, in order to better understand Scotus’ thinking. The Scotist voluntarism, in harmony with the concept of freedom as operative power, builds up the personality of the individual and a sense of history, claiming the primacy of practicality (praxis) in all spheres: political, civil, religious and theological.

Keywords:  medieval philosophy, Duns Sctous, praxis, freedom, free will, knowledge, mind, reason, rationality, science, individuality, right reason
