The Circulation of Old Romanian Book in Book Notes
The present study sought to identify the movement of Old Romanian Books that were printed within the Romanian cultural space between 1508 and 1830.
The material taken into consideration consisted of book notes belonging to the Fund of Old Romanian Books at the Library of the Romanian Academy in Cluj-Napoca. The result of the research revealed that Old Romanian printed materials dating back to the already-mentioned period, have circulated extensively. The itinerary covered by the prints in question was defined by the book owners’ need for money, the religious needs of various Christian communities that didn’t possess adequate books, as well as by the increased cultural interest, in contrast with the small number of copies etc.
As much as the researched material has allowed us, we were able to reconstitute not only the area covered by the items of each typographical centre in Romania, but also the area specific to each and every copy. We conclude by saying that each copy has its fate, which is determined by cultural and economic factors.
