Rezumat
Master Tudor – Failed History
The present study attempts to offer an in-depth analysis of Carol Ardeleanu’s work Domnul Tudor (Master Tudor), a novel about the revolution of 1821 written in the interwar period of time. Mention should be made about Carol Ardeleanu’s historical style, but also about the strengths, weaknesses and deficiencies of the novel. I shall also undertake through the present study to present the main character of the novel. Romanian hero Tudor Vladimirescu is described through a narration about his childhood, and his moments of glory and decay, as perceived by the author after analysing several historical documents upon the subject. The study also deals with the description of Tudor’s life as famous leader of the pandours’ group who fought, in 1821, for dignity, freedom, and a better life.
