Rezumat
Art reviews in Furnica magazine in its first decade (1904-1914)
The founding of Furnica magazine in the early 20th century was a “breath of air” to the Romanian press, suffocated by theoretical and political disputes. Art reviews published in this humour journal, made in a specific, satirical and pamphleteering style, were less studied. It was under these labels attached to the magazine that the two editors, G. Ranetti and N. D. Ţăranu, who wrote under many pseudonyms, attempted an original and straightforward approach to art events in the capital of Romania, as they perceived it from a new point of view, that of the uninformed, but true, art lover.
Keywords: humour magazines; satire; art reviews; pamphlet; caricature.
