Rezumat
Caragiale and the complexes of Romanian identity between stylistics and rhetorics
In this study we analyzed how cliché becomes a carrier of identity marks and also configures, generates a series of stylistic trademarks within the works of Romanian playwriter I.L.Caragiale. Moreover, we tried to show how cliché as “attempt to reproduce a particular model set” in termes of Anne Herschberg Pierrot is responsible for placing his work in modernity, in contemporariness. On the other hand, we have carefully investigated the relationship between style and rhetoric in the speech which conveys a cliché as an element of a distorted rhetoric subsequently converted in a particular style. This popularity and the reccurence of these stylistic trademarks we explained by registering it as a fact of identity thus rendering a stylistics of identity loaded with ontological value.
