Rezumat
The first cartographic representation of Transylvania (1325/1330-1520)
The present article will examine the evolution of the cartographic representation of Transylvania in the two centuries that followed the first appearance of the “Seven Fortresses” on a map (1325/1330). We will not attempt to analyze all the maps that display Transylvanian towns, rivers or other geographic features, but to highlight the most relevant cartographic documents produced between the 14th century and the early 16th century.
