„The Romanians that have built America”: the Story of Romanian migration to the United States
Historia’s latest Special edition is a collection of rich descriptions and analyses of the early process of Romanian migration to the United States. Entitled “The Romanians that have built America”, it builds a vision of the experiences of the Romanian immigrants that have made a valuable contribution to the development of a highly industrialized world power – the United States of America. Very rich in detail, it offers more than a historical presentation, as it contains valuable sociological insight filtered by modern day sociologists and based on the knowledge gained by the sociologists of the Bucharest School of Sociology in the interwar period.
Keywords: Historia, migration, immigrants, sociology, history, Romania, peasants, U.S.A, modernity, industrialization
