Recent reflections on H.H. Stahl’s historical sociology
The following article follows Ștefan Guga’s attempt to reclaim Henri H. Stahl’s sociology within the lines of a Marxist paradigm and of historical sociology. After critically tracing Stahl’s reception and presentation within the work of local sociologists, Guga connects Stahl’s theoretical work to the contemporary works and theories that Stahl related to. But Guga, we show, in an attempt to critically review his work, erroneously exaggerates in his attempts to construct his model of contemporary sociology and to stress the opposition between Stahl-the-marxist and Dimitrie Gusti’s School of Sociology.
