Educația ateistă și filmul de popularizare a științei în România socialistă (II): regimuri de producție și tipologii ale cinematografiei științifice

Atheist Education and Popular Science Film in Socialist Romania (II): Production Regimes and Typologies of Scientific Cinema
Abstract: This study aims to analyze how the evolution of propaganda structures responsible for disseminating scientific knowledge is reflected in the efforts to consolidate science popularization cinema in socialist Romania. Using the conceptual tools developed within the theoretical framework of useful film research, the article examines—from a historical and pragmatic perspective—the context of the socialist film industry, the main producer and distributor of scientific propaganda films in socialist Romania. Drawing on contemporary catalogues and other filmographic instruments as well as on arhival documents from the Sahia studio, this article will look at the production and circulation mechanisms, also sketching an overview of the topics and tipologies mobilized by the popular science film apparatus.
