Cristian Popescu și convergențele cu generația ‘80. Poezia „totului“
Cristian Popescu and the Convergences with the Generation of The Eighties. Poetry of “Wholeness”
Cristian Popescu became, since he was still alive, a writer accepted as an icon, a significant mark on the war flag of the Nineties literary movement, and he is percepted like this at this very moment. To establish his place in the history of contemporary Romanian literature requires, nevertheless, an objective (re)discussion, beyond any parti pris and beyond the generationist trenches. In The Critical History of the Romanian Literature, Nicolae Manolescu includes Cristian Popescu within the Generation of the Eighties. The present approach aims at pointing to how close is Cristian Popescu, in fact, to the „programme” of the members of that Generation. For this purpose, it is appropriate to realize a comparative analysis of the main ideas of both implicit and explicit elements of poetics. Thus it would become obvious that we may speak of certain convergences of thought in conceiving the poetry as a phenomenon in the terms of art/ poetry of the „wholeness”.
