The circulation of old books from the Blaj Printing House. a regional journey: copies and edited and inedited notes from the Alba County

The first part of the present study contains detailed bibliographic references concerning the debut and the temporal progress of the research conducted on old printings of Blaj, Alba county, as part of the more general research regarding the presence of old Romanian books (emitted by other old typographic centers such as: Târgovişte, Bucureşti, Bălgrad – Alba Iulia, Braşov, Sebeş, Iaşi, Buzău, Râmnic, Buda, Neamţ etc.) in the same region.

The present historiographic journey is extremely useful in the relevation of the present state of the research on the old books of Blaj as it is the basis of several interpretations concerning the circulation of certain copies, their vintage price, the means of acquisition and distribution etc. The third part of the present study and also the most consistent one is comprised of a necessary and very useful documentary Annex which reunites different notes from the old books of Blaj under study annoted with comentaries that encompass 37 old Blaj editions, in 104 actual copies.
