Catalogul Bibliotecii teologilor români din Budapesta (1890-1891)
Catalogue of the Library of Romanian theologians from Budapest (1890-1891)
The content of this Catalogue raised some issues that may be developed, in this context, along three plans: the library, the old Romanian book, librarian Elie Dăianu. By our contribution, we wish to make a preliminary presentation of these elements mentioning that some of them do not represent anymore a historiographic novelty, yet they cannot be deciphered.
Librarian Elie Dăianu drew up the catalogue of the library of Romanian theologians from the General Seminary from Budapest in the school year 1890-1891, at that time he being a theological student, later on priest, protopope in Cluj, but also president of Committee of Historical Monuments. Department for Transylvania etc. The handwritten work is kept in Academy Library, Cluj-Napoca Branch. Some of the three elements intertwine, finally forming a complex of cultural circumstances. The way the author of the Catalogue remarked, the fund of library belonging to General Seminary from Budapest was initially formed from the library of Saint Barbara Seminary from Vienna. This reality is owed to the fact that in 1873 Romanian theological students, who studied in Vienna at the Seminary Saint Barbara, were transferred in Budapest, where it also got the library that they had used.
